So let me tell you a little something about this particular aircraft. Registered N9619V (4XF), it was built by McDonnell Douglas in 1997 and delivered to TWA in December of that year. I truly believe that this airframe is cursed, and I have never had more trouble with another aircraft than I have with this one. I have attempted to fly on 4XF four times in the last two years. The first time, the flight was abruptly cancelled and no reason was given. The second time, in November 2013, 4XF was assigned to fly me from SAT to DFW, but a major storm system developed and the flight was cancelled. Then, one year later, it was assigned to operate the same route, but the flight was once again cancelled and I arrived in Salt Lake City three hours late. This flight from ORD to DFW was the first time that I had succeeded in even boarding 4XF, but of course, something had to go wrong, and we were diverted from DFW to Wichita Falls, TX. After hours on the ground, we returned to DFW, but all of my connecting options had departed, and I was forced to sleep on the floor. Such is the saga of N9619V.
