Dr. Anne Doll-Pollard provides an overview of the recently revised American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) guidelines for pap smears. The new guidelines were released in December 2009 and recommend pap smears should start at age 21. Futhermore, ACOG now recommends women between the ages of 21-29, should have a pap smear every other year and after the age of 30 women only need a pap smear every 3 years as long as they have had 3 consecutive normal pap smears. The good news is less testing. Dr. Doll-Pollard's specializes in obstetrics and gynecology at Southern OB/GYN Associates with offices in Greenville, IL Breese, IL Vandalia, IL Highland, IL New Baden, IL and Salem, IL.
